Patient and family partners

MONTAGE

If you or a loved one have received care here, or you simply want to help us improve the experience of our patients, please consider joining our Patient and Family Partners program.

Patient and family partners are registered volunteers who are actively involved in ensuring the patients voice is heard at all times within the organisation.

Opportunities for involvement may include;

  • Patient Information Reviewer - design and review information intended for patients to ensure it is informative, readable and understandable.
  • Patient Stories for learning - collate and share patient stories for the purpose of learning and training of staff.
  • Listening Event/Focus Group - attend and support events and focus groups designed to collect feedback or co-design solutions on a particular topic.
  • Collecting Feedback - supporting our patients, families and carers to give their feedback in the best way for them.
  • Quality Improvement - be part of a project team looking at how to make Quality Improvements within certain areas. Use your own expertise by experience to help inform the direction of the project.
  • Committee/Group Member - come share your patient or family perspectives on a variety of committees and groups that review and plan services throughout the hospital.

This group is entirely Patient & Family Partner led and focusses on supporting the hospital with issues around catering & nutrition, car parking and the general environment. Collecting Patient Feedback

We are currently looking for people that would be able to help us to give patients the opportunity to give their feedback on their care within the hospital. This may include;

  • handing out postcards and where necessary, supporting patients in completing them.
  • telephoning patients to ask them about their experience once they have returned home.
  • taking part in collecting feedback for one of surveys, when the need arises.
  • supporting patients to share their story for use in training.
  • help facilitate focus groups and listening events designed to collect feedback and explore solutions.

Full training will be provided. Please contact our head of patient experience and engagement if you are interested in being part of the team.

If there are certain areas that you are interested in being involved in, particularly if you have had a recent experience, then please contact us and we will explore this with you.
