Volunteering Opportunities replacement
Our volunteers are an invaluable part of the hospital team. Working with us in a volunteering role means you're playing a part in delivering the best possible care to our patients and their families. Opportunities for volunteering include;
Meet and Greet Volunteers - often the first person patients see when they're attending the hospital, our volunteers sit on the information desks and drive the patient buggy around the hospital, helping patients to attend their appointments.
Administration Roles - there are a variety of admin roles supporting our clinical and non-clinical teams, and we can match your skills with a role.
Ward Buddies - contributing to the smooth running of the ward, helping patients at mealtimes or just spending time with our patients.
Dementia Buddies - a specially trained volunteer who provides friendship, conversation and activities to patients with dementia whilst they are in an Inpatient ward.
Bedside Book Club - a volunteer led service. This was created entirely as a result of book donations from the public of Northampton and includes an impressive variety of genres.
Patient and family partners
Patient and family partners are registered volunteers who are actively involved in ensuring the patients voice is heard at all times within the organisation. Opportunities for involvement may include;
Patient Information Reviewer - design and review information intended for patients to ensure it is informative, readable and understandable.
Patient Stories for learning - collate and share patient stories for the purpose of learning and training of staff.
Listening Event/Focus Group - attend and support events and focus groups designed to collect feedback or co-design solutions on a particular topic.
Collecting Feedback - supporting our patients, families and carers to give their feedback in the best way for them.
Quality Improvement - be part of a project team looking at how to make Quality Improvements within certain areas. Use your own expertise by experience to help inform the direction of the project.
Committee/Group Member - come share your patient or family perspectives on a variety of committees and groups that review and plan services throughout the hospital.
