At University Hospitals of Northamptonshire (UHN), we work year‑round to make sure we can continue delivering safe care during any incident or emergency. This is part of our Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) responsibilities, and involves careful planning, training, and coordination with partners across the county.
We are active members of the Northamptonshire Local Resilience Forum (LRF) – a partnership of emergency services, local authorities, the NHS, utilities, the Environment Agency, the military, and other key organisations.
The LRF helps ensure that all responders in Northamptonshire can work together effectively by:
- Assessing risks and developing shared emergency plans
- Supporting training and multi‑agency exercises
- Coordinating communication and cooperation during incidents
- Reviewing and learning from emergencies to strengthen future responses
While the LRF itself does not respond to emergencies, it provides the structure, planning, and partnerships that allow all agencies – including NGH and KGH – to deliver a well‑coordinated and resilient response when it matters most.
