Gift bags donated to hospital cancer ward

LewisFoundationGroup

Hundreds of gift bags including jigsaws, radios and toiletries have been donated to patients receiving cancer treatment at Northampton General Hospital.

The gift packs were donated to the hospital's Talbot Butler Ward by local charity The Lewis Foundation.

Lee and Lorraine Lewis were motivated to set up The Lewis Foundation following their experience when Lee's mother became ill and spent time in hospitals including NGH. They noticed that many patients spent time alone without visitors and with little to occupy them inbetween treatment sessions.

They decided to fundraise and use the money raised to buy items and equipment that would address patients' boredom and make their hospital stay more comfortable.

This week, Lee and Lorraine donated gift packs for patients which included beauty packs, radio packs, puzzle packs, and overnight packs.
