Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust

Maggie's

A different kind of cancer care, right here at Northampton General Hospital

At Maggie’s, we provide free expert care and support to anyone with cancer, as well as their families and friends. Our centre, located close to the Billing Road exit of the hospital, is a bright, welcoming space where you can connect with others who understand what you’re going through, or simply take a moment to gather your thoughts.

At the heart of the centre is a kitchen table and thoughtfully created spaces for both quiet reflection and for people to come together as a group.

Our support is always free and focuses on the things that really make a difference, such as:

  • Help with money worries Our benefits advisors can explain what financial support you may be entitled to as well as help with practical things like parking permits.
  • Talk to a cancer Support Specialist They will listen to how you’re feeling, answer any questions you may have and help you find the support you need. You don’t need an appointment or referral, just come in.
  • Talk to a psychologist If things are getting on top of you, if you're scared or feeling down, we can arrange for you to talk to a psychologist, who will be able to provide practical and emotional support.
  • Support for family and friends We can help you cope emotionally and practically, find ways to have difficult conversations, support you as you come to terms with changes in your life, or help you adapt to your new role as a carer.
  • Expert-led exercise sessions

Designed to help people manage the physical and emotional challenges of a cancer diagnosis.

We're open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. No appointment or referral needed, our support is free – just come in.
