WELLINGBOROUGH: A group that provides support to anyone affected by cancer through befriending, cancer information materials, cancer information materials in other languages, information, Written resources in other languages, and has disabled access. This is a  member led group so our activities and meeting structure vary according to the needs of our members. Their main aim is to provide local support and friendship for those who have been affected by cancer.

The group meets on the 1st Saturday of each month at The Lazer Maze, 30 Church Street, Wellingborough, Northants, NN8 4PA from 10 am to 11.30 am.

In 2009 the Facefax Association charity extended its services and opened The Dunstone Bennett Complementary Centre which offers support for people in Northamptonshire on a journey through any type of cancer.The complementary health centre is run by a team of dedicated volunteers who work closely with medical staff at Northampton General Hospital and Macmillan, providing services for cancer patients, their family members, loved ones and carers.

Services offered: Reiki; Indian Head Massage; Reflexology; Back, Neck and Shoulder Massage; Beauty Treatments & Advice; Counselling; Art Workshops; Support Groups.

The Peer Enjoyment Afternoons offer a supportive environment for patients to participate in a range of leisure activities to maximise enjoyment and quality of life. Staff and volunteers provide a friendly welcome with plenty of laughter and emotional support. Volunteers run activities with support of the Wellbeing at Cynthia Spencer Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and rehabilitation assistant

Requires clinican or CNS referral on to programme. Please speak to your clinician or CNS if you are interested in attending this programme.

Breast Friends Northampton is run by women who have been through a breast cancer diagnosis. We are a  Northampton based support group for people affected by breast cancer by people affected by breast cancer.

 At our base we run weekly (Thursday morning) and fortnightly, (Thursday evening) coffee and chat sessions where trained therapists offer complimentary therapy sessions to support patients and their carers.

We also run a highly-subsidised holiday home scheme in Norfolk where we have a lovely lodge for patients to enjoy a welcomed break from the rigours of treatment and hospital appointments.
