Critical Care Follow Up

A stay in the critical care department can be confusing and sometimes you may have questions about the care you received or want more information about what treatment you've had.

Our team will help to support you and your relatives to learn more about your experience and how to move forward during your recovery.

ICU Steps

ICUsteps was founded in 2005 by ex-patients, their relatives and ICU staff to support patients and their families through the long road to recovery from critical illness.

They have a wide array of information and support available on their website: icusteps.org

They aim to:

  • support patients and relatives affected by critical illness,
  • promote recognition of the physical and psychological consequences of critical illness through education of the medical profession and the general public
  • and encourage research into treatment and the prevention of these issues.
