New Chief Executive Officer appointed for UHN
We are delighted to announce that Adam Carson will be joining as our new CEO for UHN on 28 September.
Adam joins us from South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust and George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust where he has been Managing Director since 2023, as well as a period as acting CEO.
Adam started his career within the NHS in Birmingham in 2004 and has had several roles leading service improvement, transformation and digital development across a number of healthcare settings. Adam is experienced in leading complex partnerships, and during his time in the NHS has led collaborations of partners across acute, mental health and maternity services.
Adam joined South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust in 2018, leading Digital Transformation and progressed to the role of Chief Digital and Technology Officer. Between April 2025 and March 2026 he was Acting Chief Executive and Accountable Officer for SWFT and GEH. Adam is passionate about clinically-led transformation, digital technology and inclusion.
